Time to put a new rear tire on the Corse. Found a nice deal on a Pirelli and had it installed. The size was 190/50 instead of 190/55. Myself and the dealer thought it would be ok as he had just installed one on a MultiStrada. Well, on the way home the thing was not ridable. The DTC on level 4 activated all the time. On level three, not so much. Levels two and one were ok. Called the dealer back and he advised he would get another tire coming asap. Had the tire changed and put a 190/55 Diablo Rosso Super Corse with the triple compound on. What a beautiful tire. Seems to stick very well and we will see about the milage with the harder compound in the center. Also no charge for the second change. Nice guy. Thanks Sebastian. The 190/55 is about an inch taller than the 190/50. Enough to make the DTC spaz out.

Steve from Australia sent these photos of the beautiful Corse he just bought. The previous owner put some good stuff on it. Nice and clean.

The bike only had 1050 miles on it and it looks like it was well cared for. Steve said he can’t wait for a track day at Phillip Island. What a great place to let the Corse spread it’s wings. Congrats!

A belated congratulation to Carlos Checa for winning the 2011 World Superbike Championship. Just goes to show you age and treachery will outdo youth and enthusiasm every time! Congrats to Ducati also by winning with an “old outdated tractor”. Yeah right! I have most of the 2011 season videos now on the Superbike Racing page. Enjoy.

BTW, big congrats to Steve in Australia with his new Corse!

Also before I forget. Hutshop LLC has E-Zup commercial 10×10 foot canopies with zippered sides included for sale through Amazon for $240.00 including shipping. I got one and it is great! Only color is white though.

One more thing, congrats to Max Biaggi for imploding again……Oops did I just open a can of worms?

Little Trailer

Here are a few photos of my new little trailer I got to replace the 7×16 foot Pace I had. The bigger trailer was nice but only being able to get 10 miles to the gallon sucked. Sold it and got this nice little 5×8 Pace that was on sale from 5R Trailers in Sanford Florida. I’m only going to put one bike at a time in it so it is fine. Mounted my Pit Bull restraint for the Duc in it today and installed a couple of wall eye bolts to secure items behind the bike when I use it. Checked my fuel mileage and am able to get around 16 mpg at 60 mph. Good enough to save over 50% in fuel cost by not pulling the bigger one. Going to Dick’s Sporting Goods tomorrow to buy a new 10×10 Ezup canopy to give me some shade and rain protection at the track.

Changed the oil in the Corse today. I was going to change the filter. I bought an after market one and a wrench to fit. Low and behold the standard Ducati OEM filter that is on the bike has about half the flutes as the after market one. Crap. The wrench does not fit and I can’t get the old filter off. I changed the oil and will change the filter after the track day in a couple of weeks. Crap.

Hello friends. Been along time since the last update but I’m back. Gonna do an oil change on the Corse this week in preparation for another track day on November 7th at Jennings. My nephew and I have never ridden there and we are really looking forward to it. We are going up on Sunday night and riding on Monday. My dealer, Melillimoto in Ocala sold me Amsoil synthetic to use in the bike. Good stuff but a bit costly. Anyway, have read good things about the oil and I run it in my cars so all should be well. I also sold the 7×16 foot trailer I had and bought a nice little 5×8 Pace that was on sale. Good for my Corse or my GS. Tows really nice and returns much better fuel economy than the bigger trailer. I will post a few new photos of it soon.

I put a new Pirelli rear tire on the other day to get ready for the track day. My dealer installed a 190/50 and I had a few problems with the DTC activating too much so that tire came off and a 190/55 was put on. Problem solved.

The summer temps have been too hot to enjoy much riding on the Corse. Only put about 300 miles on it all summer. Cooler now so more rides and track days are planned. More after the break……..

Should Have Waited

Rode the Corse over to bike night at Cycle Gear in Daytona this evening. Nice ride over and met a couple of friends that came over from Ormond Beach and Orlando. The usual stuff like custom Harleys and Japanese sportbikes. The free food was nice and I met a few more Ducati enthusiast. But the usual thing happened on the way home. Frigin rain. Not much but I had the Corse spit shined and polished. Oh well, I don’t go to work until 1800 tomorrow so it will get cleaned up. Should hve checked the weather radar.

I am already starting the planning to go to the East Coast Ducati Rally in North Carolina at Fontana the weekend of May 9th through the 13th. Missed it last year and heard it was great. Gonna take the Corse and the GS, best of both worlds! My home in the area is about an hour away from the rally site. Anyone else that is planning to go can get in touch with me so we can get together for some riding.
